I am a psychology major at Eastern Kentucky University and my husband, Vernon, is starting a truck driving career with C.R England. I originally planned to wait for adoption until we were much older then I started asking myself, why would I do that? I want to give my children everything they need and I realized I can do that and more at this stage in my life. I've always known I wanted to adopt, with so many children in need and without families I knew that I wanted to change these children's lives. Since I was young I imagined but once I turned 21 and tried starting the process I was crushed to find out that unless you were sitting on tens of thousands of dollars, you were not adopting. I felt hopeless, I had experienced a pregnancy then miscarriage before and finding out adoption was close to impossible for us, I felt like I was losing a child all over again.
After doing a lot of research and receiving a lot blessings, we were about to find a child in KY. We are asking for your help so that we can pay for our homestudy and adopt him.
You may be concerned about donating because we will be such young parents...
Pros of us adopting;
•We are just as full of energy and active as the children
•Most people have kids in their 20s anyways so they would have a chance at a completely normal life.
• As an adopted child, with my husband and I experiencing neglect as children we know all too well about the behavioral, emotional, and social problems that follow and can help him understand his pain and confusion.
• We are extremely close to our family, they won't just have a mom and dad but he will have cousins, plenty of aunts and uncles, grandparents and family friends.
•I do MMA and my husband is a jack of all trades when it comes to sports and recreational activities so we will support him and help him pursue any activity with us right beside them.
A home study (from Heart to Home Adoption Agency) is 1,600
Because this is an in state private adoption an attorney will not be needed or a court will appoint us one. Everything else will be gotten by myself and my family. If you would donate to help us pay our homestudy we could have our little boy in as little as two months.
