Help The Healing Begin for Jay's Foot!

Many of my friends and family members will remember that last April, 2012, I had part of my left foot amputated (The photo is of me when I was in the hospital for the amputation). Since then I have continued to have problems with my foot, particularly with walking. Within the past few months my podiatrist has diagnosed me with severe Charcot Osteoarthropathy in my left foot. Charcot
is a degenerative disease of the bones in the foot which cause the bones to shift and fracture. Right now I am in constant pain in my left foot. If I try to walk, it is extremely difficult and painful. I cannot even wear a regular shoe on my left foot at this point. My podiatrist has prescribed two things to aid in the healing process - a bone stimulator and a C.R.O.W. boot . The bone stimulator is intended to help speed the healing of the bone fractures caused by the Charcot. The CROW (Charcot Restraint Orthotic Walker) boot is an orthopedic cast that is custom built for my left foot/leg (from a mold taken of my leg/foot) to help me be able to walk.
These two devices are very expensive, and as I'm not working right now, it has become impossible for me to get these items. I desperately need to get the CROW boot so that I can be mobile again and walk with less pain as the bone fractures heal. The insurance we have will only pay a small portion of these items and both are well over $2,000 each! I've decided to reach out to my relatives and friends for help in getting the funds that we so desperately need in getting these items. I've set my goal at $4,000.00 which will help pay for the two items and also help defray other expenses that we have right now (food, transportation, bills, etc.) while I am out of work. Anything that you can do to help us would be greatly appreciated. Chris, my partner, is working very hard to keep us afloat right now, so I know that easing some of the pressure on his shoulders would mean a lot to him as well!
We love you all and realize that times are tough for everyone right now. But we realize that sometimes you have to look to your friends and family for help when all other avenues have dead-ended. And we always pay it forward. Thanks in advance for any help that you can send our way!
