Joe's Biggest Race
Donation protected
As many of you may or may not know, 2016 ended with the heartbreaking news for the Pacheco family. Joe Pacheco was diagnosed with a stage IV, aggressive, inoperable, malignant brain tumor. This news has shaken his world but Joe, along with his family and friends by his side, is ready for the biggest race of his life.
Joe is the husband of 15 years to his wife, Chaz and a doting father of, Brenna and Dylan. He is also a loving son, brother, nephew, uncle and friend to many.
In his professional life, Joseph Pacheco, an eleven-year veteran of the Munster Police Department, is currently assigned as the School Resource Officer at Munster High School. He is an active member of the department’s Honor Guard, as well as the advisor and mentor to the Munster Police Explorer Post, which is a program comprised of youth interested in the field of law enforcement. Over the last 11 years, Joe has devoted himself to protecting and serving the citizens of Munster, educating numerous students in the DARE program and has also received numerous commendations. He holds a very special place in the hearts of his family of “blue”!
After the diagnosis, Joe and Chaz have met with a team of doctors from Northwestern Hospital to discuss their plan of treatment. Joe will begin chemotherapy and radiation treatments shortly. Joe and his family are feeling positive and determined to fight and win this battle. Joe is an avid runner with many successful marathons under his belt. As his doctors have said this is a marathon NOT a sprint. Let’s join in this marathon with Joe and his family to come together as a community to support this devoted law enforcement officer, loving family man as well as true friend.
Family, friends and his Brothers in Blue have offered a huge support system to the Pacheco family during this trying time. We would like to not only help emotionally but to offer financial support as well. This fund's goal is to help the Pacheco family with the financial aspects of being off work and the ongoing medical expenses for Joe's care.
We would appreciate any donation you can make to help the Pacheco family during this time of need. Please keep Joe, Chaz and their children, Brenna and Dylan, in your thoughts and prayers. Lastly, we are beyond thankful for the time you have taken to read this campaign!
Thank you for your prayers and support.
