Pray for Todd Moothart
Todd was in a serious motorcycle accident on Sept. 7th at approximately 1pm. Todd and his friends Troy Noel, Carol Ponath and Mike and Candy Barrett were heading out for a day of riding in the Gorge. Todd was the driver Carol was passenger. Todd and Troy were at red light at the bottom of 164th street in Vancouver Wa. Mike and Candy had got stopped by a red light so Todd and Troy agreed to pull over on the on ramp to Highway 14 in the shade to wait for their friends. As Todd rounded the corner and went into the shoulder he hit a 8 inch transition form black top to gravel that was part of the fog line. Todd lost control of the motorcycle and hit the guard rail. The Columbian News paper reported it as a jersey barrier and that is incorrect.
Todd is in critical condition at Peace Health in Vancouver. Todd received massive trauma to his chest area. All of his ribs are broken some in multiple places the lungs are severely bruised and both lungs were punctured. Todd has compound fractures of both arms and one of his arms the doctor stopped counting at ten fractures. He has a broken pelvis front and rear one of his fingers was partially severed and one of his kidneys is ripped in half. He has several large gashes on his lower region. Todd is now in a medically induced coma and will remain that way until his lungs can repair themselves well enough to start processing co2.
Todd is a 50 year old loving dad of one son a great friend to many people a loving brother and son. Todd just recently went back to work after a long lay off and was a supervisor in his field. Todd has rode a motorcycle of one kind of another for all of his life. Todd was an experienced safe rider with many road miles. With insurance only covering about eighty percent for a minimum six month hospital stay and an estimated one year recovery period. We are asking for your help....Thank you and God Bless!
