Kerstin's Ramp Van fund
Donation protected
Kerstin is a HERO to so many, definitely mine. That is why, it is No longer a want! Kerstin and I really need accessible transportation, a wheelchair accessible van. Kerstin has very long legs, she is definitely not a little girl anymore. Since getting her feeding tube two years ago, Kerstin has gained close to 50 lbs, weighing in at 80.5 lbs (as of December 22, 2014). She uses a wheelchair that weighs 68.8 lbs. On a daily basis, on our many trips to doctors, therapists, specialists, and her many recreational trips to the movies and her favorite spot, Target. I am lifting approximately 150 lbs. at every stop!
Kerstin loves to be on the go but, it gets tiring and I can imagine, with her being a teenager now, she gets tired of her mom having to constantly transfer her from her wheelchair to the seat and back again, and this is done at every stop when she is getting out of the vehicle. I am not one to keep her shielded and not allow her to be involved in things as she would if it were not for her diagnosis.
Having accessible transportation available to Kerstin would make it so easy to get her in and out of the vehicle. Rainy days, no longer a problem, there would be no need to transfer her from wheelchair to car seat. Cold days, not a problem, she can be from the building up the ramp into her van in no time. The same for hot days of summer. Please support Kerstin! We thank you so much for your [vote] [donation]. My back will definitely appreciate it too!
Thank you,
Kerstin and her mom, Mattisa
