Nia Imani Academy Needs Your Support

Thanks to all of you who helped us in the past raise over $12,000 in funds.  Your contributions helped us support over 25 students for the 2013-14 and 2014-2015 school years!  We were able to meet the academic needs of students of which over 85% were either homeless or received support from the state.  Again, thanks to your support towards our operations, parents are reporting that their children received a strong academic foundation that served them well when they returned to public education.   However, we are looking open up in the Richmond, VA area very soon!

The Academy's mission is to produce college and career ready students with exceptional skills to be successful 21st century learners who are independent thinkers, resilient, confident, and technologically literate.

This was accomplished through a learning environment where staff believes in the academic success of all students. We offer a maximum class size of 16 students, year round instruction, rigorous instruction (Common Core/Abeka), and competitive tuition. We plan to integrate technology into our instruction. We are open to all students whose parents would like them to attend (on a first come, first served basis). We would also like to offer scholarships to parents who would like their child to attend but cannot afford it.

We are not against public education, but recognize that our  structure is different than what is currently provided in the public (or private schools) this area as we have more flexibility to do whatever it takes to meet the individual needs of our students. ( i.e. class size, year round instruction, uniforms, character instruction based on Christian values, standard based report cards, power naps, etc.).  After returning to public schools, one of the main things our parents stated that they missed was true individualized instruction that helped their children progress at their own pace allowing for acceleration in subjects that were strengths!

We are also seeking advisory board members who have a passion for education and will support our mission.  This year, the school will be funded through an educational fund, so we are looking for board members for that as well.  Serious inquiries only as this is a major commitment!!

Although we have stored much of our school items, we will require additional funds for a successful start-up in the Richmond, VA area.   In the first two years, we  received over $150,000 in donated goods and services.  Thank you to all who made that possible!! We greatly appreciate your support!
