Kadens BlessingBags forthe Homeless
Donation protected
Kaden, my now 11 year old son, came to me in March 2015 when he was only 8 years old and wanted to do something to help the community. He wanted to help people less fortunate. He has decided to make blessing bags for the homeless. To do this he needs all of your help! Once a month we are making and delivering blessing bags to local shelters! I have spoken to the Refuge of Hope here in Canton and the list below is what is most needed.
Here is what we need. Donations! Either in items or completed bags.
Blessing Bags are a large Ziploc bag filled with things many of us take for granted each day that are not afforded by those who have nothing. Items needed per bag are:
1. Chap-stick
2. Razors and shaving cream
3. 3 in 1 hair and body wash
4. Kleenex
5. Wet wipes/baby wipes
6. Tooth brush and tooth paste
7. Deodorant
8. Q-tips
9. Bottle of water
10. Healthy snack
And if making a bag for a woman: pads or tampon (for us girls could you imagine not being able to have these?)
Great places to get things are The Dollar Tree, Marcs, and using coupons! Trial sizes are great to and as well as large/full sizes. Generic stuff is usually cheaper and works just as good!
Kaden is hoping to help 50 people a month.
Kaden is asking for everyone's help! If you would like to donate please let us know! We like collecting all donations around the first week of each month to give us time to make all the bags and we drop off the completed bags no later then the second Friday of each month!
We have a Facebook group called:
Kaden's Blessing Bags for the Homeless
Please look us up and join. We share all information there.
Please help make Kaden's mission possible! Sometimes the heart of a child can change the world! So far he has been able to make and pass out 1490 bags!
