On October 19th Anthony Spinelli was involved in
a near fatal motorcycle accident.
Anthony was heading west on Rt 9 around 11:30PM on his way to see his
girlfriend. Anthony struck a guardrail
and was thrown over into the eastbound lane.
Upon landing Anthony was struck by a car, severing his left leg, now
amputated above the knee and damaging the right leg, which later required
amputation below the knee. Other
injuries include a broken pelvis, broken right femur, broken left ulnar, and
three broken fingers. Following the
accident Anthony endured 4 surgeries and multiple blood transfusions. Anthony spent the following two weeks in Worcester
at Umass Medical Center. He is now at
Spaulding Rehabilitation Center in Charlestown, MA where he is learning to
adjust to his new life.
