I am raising money for my husbands defense fund. Last August we were having a yard sale and my 3 boys 6,4 and 1 were having a lemonade stand. A neighbor who was shopping got hit with something in the leg then soon after I was hit with something in my hand. My hand was about 5 inches away from my middle sons eye. Shortly thereafter my husband and I both saw two boys with guns (15 years old) pointed at us peeking around the house across the street. My husband immediately ran after them to stop them from shooting at his family.( One of the boys lives in a house diagonally across the street from us. We knew this family well. The boy who was shooting at us was welcomed in my home home many times. He ate with us and spent alot of time with us. Also my husband had been to there house frequently helping the mother financially and with vehicle repairs. ) My husband chased them back to his house where they ran inside the back slider and my husband followed them in. There he spoke with the mother. He told her he was going to call the police and she asked him not to. Saying it makes for bad neighbors. He came back across the street and told me to call the police to report the boys. He was out of breathe. When the police came, the mother told them that Bill has trespassed and wanted to press charges. They also told the police that my husband assaulted one of the boys. This is absolutely not true. The boys did admit to shooting at us with an airsoft gun. They were pretending they were in the military and thought it was fun. We found plastic and metal bb's on the lawn. Now my husband has an indictment for criminal trespassing. My husband did what any father would do to protect his family. We want to fight this and bring it to a jury. My husband has Chronic neurological lyme disease which make his life hard. On top of this his father passed in August then his younger brother passed a month later. We have spoken to a few other lawyers and they said it can cost up to $20,000. Please help us fight this unjust charge.
