I'm wondering if you could help me, I'm doing some fundraising for my son who is 5 years old. He suffers from spastic cerebral palsy. I'm trying to raise £5,300 so he can get ABR Therapy. This isn't funded by the NHS so friends and family are trying their best to come up with the money to help Reagan.
So abr therapy works personally with Reagan and it comes in three sessions. A specialist flys over from Belgium to work with Reagan these sessions takes place in Glasgow. They stimulate muscles that you wouldn't even imagine that could be touched. She would work with Reagan's abdominal area that is really weak as he is peg fed, and work with his breathing as his lungs has not developed the same as ours, which would also help with his respiratory area. These are all the areas that ABR targets for strengthening. ABR does this by using a range of slow compressional movements.These movements apply a low grade stress to the targeted areas at a very deep level, forcing the cells to reproduce and strengthen. In many ways the moves substitute for the day to day pressures and stresses the targeted areas would have experienced if Reagan had been a healthy child
If we can raise this money and after Reagan receives this treatment their is hope that he will need no medication, his speech will improve so one day he may talk as he is completely non verbal at the minute, and our biggest hope is to see him walk, there is hope for this to happen but first we need to raise this money. The tree of hope charity is looking to support us as soon as they have a space..
