Jose Luis' Support Fund

We are the staff and students at South Valley Preparatory School, a small, charter middle school located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We are starting a GoFundMe page for one of our students.  Jose Luis Gamboa is an 8th grader at our school.  Jose Luis has been a successful student at our school for the last 2 1/2 years. He is loved by so many and as a school we are heart broken by his absence.  

Over the Winter Holiday, Jose Luis went to a local clinic complaining of stomach pain.  He was sent home with a stomach flu diagnosis.  Jose Luis became increasingly sick over the next several days.  He was taken to the emergency room where he was diagnosed with a ruptured appendix.  The hospital was unable to perform surgery immediately because of the severe infection and collapsed lung that resulted from the ruptured appendix.   

Jose Luis is currently in a coma and his condition has continued to worsen.  His mother continues to be by his side every hour of every day along with his extended family members. As a result of staying by her sons side Jose's mother has been losing wages everday since December. 
 
Jose Luis Gamboa is one of many smart and wonderful students our small school has had the privilege of serving. Jose Luis is extremely bright and has an amazing future ahead of him. 

As a school we are asking for any donations that may help this family in any way.  Please consider donating to help this family with any medical and recovery costs that they are incurring.
