Send me to SDCC2015 please

I would like to raise money to attend the International comic con; San Diego in July 2015. I have never been and I very likely will never have another chance to attend this pinnacle of nerd and pop culture. 

My story below:

I'm an Artilleryman stationed in Fort Wainwright, Alaska. It's cold. 
I've served the Army for 10 years. I have served in Iraq and Afghanistan 3 times.  I'm a sergeant, married with two awesome little kiddos.  I'm also a fine arts artist. I try to make extra money selling portraits.
 Normally, we are allowed to take vacation or "block leave" for 2 weeks twice a year. Normally for Christmas and usually sometime in the Summer. This year, my unit has "canceled" block leave in favor of "opportunity leave". Apparently, as long as it didn't interfere with training, we can take leave whenever we like. Well,  Sir, I'd like it in July.
 I've never had the chance to do anything but visit family. Flying anywhere from Alaska is expensive. 
The money raised will go towards my attendance pass, plane fare, and billeting and food. 
I believe myself to be fairly selfless. I try. I've never wanted something like this. Something which I feel that pride be damned. I feel like I should be selfish this once. I think I should deserve this opportunity. 

I've never tried crowd funding, so I don't know what to expect. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading. Peace and God bless.
