On July 7th and 8th, 2011, 150 members of the public have been invited to attend a special tweetup at Kennedy Space Center to witness the final launch of the Space Shuttle Atlantis. Mrs. Patricia Cleveland a fourth grade teacher at Jeffersonville Elementary School in Twiggs County Georgia and twitter user, applied and was accepted for this once in a lifetime opportunity.

 

Mrs. Cleveland plans on using this opportunity as a professional development tool to use in her classroom for the years to come. The event will provide Mrs. Cleveland the opportunity to speak with shuttle technicians, engineers, astronauts, managers, shuttle directors, and  a tour of Kennedy Space Center, on July 7th, and then on July 8th to experience the final launch of space shuttle Atlantis to the International Space Station. Also Mrs. Cleveland will have to opportunity to work and meet with fellow educators, scientists, computer programmers, social media specialists, and people from many walks of life that will give her feedback and experiences to share with her classes.

 

 Mrs. Cleveland will travel to Florida July 6th through July 9th, for this experience. Participants in this once in a lifetime experience have to provide for their own travel, lodging and food expenses.

 

Mrs. Cleveland is looking for sponsors for her trip to help defray the expenses that she will be incurring.

 

For donations from $100-$300 Mrs. Cleveland will post badges on the sidebar of her blog asking people to visit the webpages of the sponsors of her trip

 

For donations from $300-$500 Mrs. Cleveland will do a special \"sticky post\" advertisement/thank you post on her blog for one week, as well as the badge on the side bar of her blog asking people to visit the webpages of the sponsors of her trip.

 

For donations of $500 and greater, Mrs. Cleveland will discuss with you, how to thank you! As well as a "stick post" advertisement/thank you post on her blog for one week, and  the badge on the side bar of her blog.
