Help Dave Raise Awareness for PTSD

Donation protected
As a lot of you are aware I have suffered PTSD and depression since being discharged from the NSW Police in 2015, after 13 years of service. I have spent the majority of the time since in and out of hospital and have also battled drug, alcohol addiction and self harm attempts. To help raise awareness for PTSD and depression and mental health illnesses I am going to take part in trekking one of the most famous and toughest trails in Australian History, the Kokoda Trail in Papua New Guinea between the 1st and the 11th of October 2018.

I am wanting to raise $10,000 some of which will help fund my walk with the rest going to the Soldier On who have recently taken on helping police suffering mental health illnesses.

I want to share my story and experience to help others who are suffering with this illness, I want to show that you can live with this illness and still achieve great things. I am hoping by opening up and telling my story I can help and inspire others to do so.

This is one of the greatest challenges in my life and I feel it fitting that I take on the greatest challenges, Kokoda. I am sharing my story, and speaking out to break down the stigma around mental health so please join me in my journey, from hospital to Kokoda, your support and donations will help to save lives, after living through this and getting to this point in my recovery I want to help others through. We need to make sure we keep up talking about this illness so that we don’t lose another life, thank you for taking the time to help out it is very much appreciated,
