Hi, I’m Rebekah and I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer. I was diagnosed June 12, 2018. I’m a survivor of Stage 2, having previously gone into remission in 2015. Im a US military (Army) veteran, a diver, a singer, a traveler, an Analyst, a natural born leader, and single mom of 3 beautiful girls, Sophia, 8, Scarlett, 7, and Stella, the youngest @8 months old. I almost can’t even believe I’m having to write this... again. I don’t even know where to start. It started with back pain that lasted for five weeks, before nausea kicking in with it. I went to an urgent care, followed by two visits to two different ERs before receiving an MRI and diagnosis. Our future has changed, where do we go from here?? It’s spread to my spine and liver, given a “21 month” timeline. Well, it’s been rough to navigate, but right now, it means planning for an immediate future possibility of the girls not having me around and figuring out the logistics of that, visits to lawyers, traveling expenses for treatment, funeral costs, things I didn’t think I’d have to plan right now. I am unable to obtain life insurance now with my diagnosis, so it will never be an option for me. But it also means, focusing on the here and now so much deeper!! My faith is slowly and steadily growing through this time. I believe we serve a God who is capable of anything, and I refuse to limit Him. I’m trusting in his Hands, and believing He always wants the best for me and my precious girls. I’ve had so many people tell me how strong I am lately, and it’s true, I am strong! I can get through this, I have once before, and I can again. All proceeds will be used for bills, medical costs, co pays, prescription co pays, and doing something special with the girls. I want to do something that they will always remember. I have so many things I still want to do and share with them. We will also be setting aside some of the donations to start college funds for all 3 girls to plan for their future. I look forward to the day all my sweet girls will be in college, pursuing their dreams and living their own adventure!! I’m focusing on one day at a time, and praying daily for strength. My cancer is Estrogen Receptor Positive, and HER 2 negative, and considered extremely aggressive. I’ve started radiation (this past Tuesday), and chemo will follow on the 20th of July.
