~THIS EVENT IS OVER. THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERYONE WHO DONATED TO HELP US OUT!~

*****AS OF APRIL 17, 2015 AT 1:33 PM, WE HAVE $14,092 PLEDGED TOWARDS CHAMPIONSHIPS FROM GOFUNDME AND OUTSIDE DONORS. ONLY $918 UNTIL WE HIT OUR GOAL!*****

We are the William S. Hart High School District FRC** Robotics Competition Team “Project 691.”* Based out of the Santa Clarita Valley in the Los Angeles County, we offer advanced career technical experience and preparation for future engineers and entrepreneurs alike.

For the first time in a decade, our high school robotics team is going to the FRC World Championships in St. Louis, Missouri, from April 22nd to 25th. We know that our robot is competition-ready, and our team members are all pumped to go. However, in order to compete well in tournament, we would need ****six team members at the tournament, as well as their parents for legal reasons. Considering that we need to travel halfway across the continent to get to St. Louis, that we need housing near the competition venue for all of the competition days, that we need to transport both our 2015 robot (Operation: NIGHTHAWK) and our machines/supplies to and from tournament, and that we definitely need to pay for food, our team would like to financially support as many team members as possible to take part in the culmination of over three months of their hard work and sleepless nights.

Knowing that a trip to St. Louis would be a huge financial strain on our team families, we students of the Project 691 Executive Board would like to raise funds to help take on part of our families’ financial burdens.

We would tremendously appreciate any and all support you could offer us. Thank you.

*About the team:
The William S. Hart High School District FRC Robotics Competition Team “Project 691” offers a hands-on technical and life experience for young future engineers and entrepreneurs in a student-led, mentor-guided team environment. Ever since it was founded in 2000, the program has emphasized teamwork, self-confidence, gracious professionalism, and leadership. Through an annual six-week-long robot build season in the spring and off-season projects varying from technical workshops, field trips to industry sponsors, and community demonstrations, we encourage individual diversity, combined creativity, and positive achievements, not only in our program but in our community. Many of Project 691’s team alumni have been accepted to engineering colleges such as Arizona State University, Cal Poly SLO, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, UCLA, UC Berkeley, CalTech, and more. **About the FRC (FIRST*** Robotics Competition):
“The varsity Sport for the MindTM, FRC combines the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. Under strict rules, limited resources, and time limits, teams of 25 students or more are challenged to raise funds, design a team "brand," hone teamwork skills, and build and program robots to perform prescribed tasks against a field of competitors. It’s as close to "real-world engineering" as a student can get. Volunteer professional mentors lend their time and talents to guide each team.” For more information, visit http://www.usfirst.org/roboticsprograms/frc .

***About FIRST:
FIRST is a non-profit organization founded by Segway inventor Dean Kamen “For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology” in K-12 students all around the world. For more information, visit us.first.org .
