We are asking for everyone to come together and help little Cory Tounget. Cory is five months old and being tested for spinal muscular atrophy. This is a disease caused by a genetic defect. It manifests in various degrees of severity which all have in common general muscle wasting and mobility impairment. Spinal muscular atrophy is the most common genetic cause of infant death. Baby Cory will stay at Shannon Medical Center until the first of next week then will be transferred to Cook Children's Hospital. A neurologist there has been in close contact with his pediatrician and will be waiting for him. Cory's mom is a nurse at Shannon Clinic and worked on the trauma unit at Shannon Medical Center for years helping others and now she needs our help.
