My name is Emily, and I am a stay at home mother and wife to a wonderful man. his name is Adam and he is a member of the Michigan National guard.
I have spinal injuries and take medications and go to therapy as well, so things can get busy. *Edit as of Jan 29th*
I am on the schedule to have Spinal surgery in Feb, the original date was Feb 10th, but will be pushed back to Feb 20th.
This is an INCREDIBLE loss in income not only to my husband who will have to help take care of me, but I have to shut down my shop on Etsy, Carpe Noctem Cosmetics, LLC. I am only closing for 2-3 weeks, but It will be a loss to income, and we have no way to recover these losses. On top of everything else going dow. I will be on a 6-8 week journey after surgery to full recovery, and use of my legs more ( again, i used to be quite active. I have been battling this for over 3 years) Yes, adam will still attend school and continue taking work as it comes.
I do not have a license, and we only have one vehicle, So I am home most days.
Once Adam came home from AIT last may things have been incredibly rocky, moneywise. After having wages garnished from an already small paycheck for a few months , we decided to get Adam into school to get his carreer.
He went through MTEC in Grand Rapids , MI, and got his certificate to be an electricians Apprentice, eventually becoming a master electrician ( after many years)
During the time he attended school , I began to work from home while taking care of our 2 year old.
After he completed the program , he got into a Tradeskills temp agency. He soon found temporary work, and was bringing home a paycheck. Unfortunately in the state of Michigan, you are also required to take a class per semester to be able to keep working as an apprentice. You cannot miss a semester.
FAFSA and Military tuition assistance WILL NOT cover Trade courses, nor will they cover your books. No one will qualify us for loans with the pay an apprentice receives.
pay for an apprentice is very low. We have had to purchase tools, and he has had to drive long distances for work.
We need to continue Adam's career. we need help as a family to survive and thrive through all the hard work that we know will eventually pay off.
I appreciate you reading this , it takes a lot to ask for help , and I want nothing more than my amazing husband to succeed. But I do not know how else to fix this from snowballing and losing everything.
Thank you so much, from the bottom of out hearts.
