Chilidog, emergency help for rescued dog
Donation protected
I am a mosaic artist, who was volunteering on a community intervention project in Puente Alto, Chile. While I was there, a small street dog who had been struck by a car limped up and stayed with the artists during the project, never leaving us. We named him Chilidog. Injured and weak, and much smaller than the other street dogs, I couldn't not leave him there to die, so I took him to the vet for his emergency care and arranged for boarding him before I had to fly home. Chilidog was malnourished and dehydrated on top of his injuries, so he is receiving the care he needs to be able to travel here. He will even be able to walk normally again. But because I had my purse stolen while volunteering, losing all of my money, along with having the thieves using my bank card to drain my bank accounts at home, I have had to ask for donations to help get Chili the care he needs, and to arrange to have him shipped here to me when he is able to travel. He is required to be quarantined at the vet's for 30 days prior to travel. I want to give this little guy a happy ending. Having experienced feeling helpless and cut off myself while there, I can identify with his plight, and feel a bond with with him. With so many street dogs in Chile, I know I could not save them all, but I can save this one. Any donation, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated.
*I am not sure at this time what the final total will be for vet bills, transportation, etc... but will make adjustments as the fundraising continues.
*update 2/19 Chili must stay for longer than originally planned, since the required quarantine is 40 days, rather than the 30 I'd been told. Chili will need to be boarded longer, and I am arranging for assistance in Chile to help get him shipped here.
