Help me kick cancer's ass!
Hi. My name is Rita and I am currently fighting the biggest battle of my life.
On August 26, 2013, at the age of 32, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. After a lumpectomy and a port placement surgery, I was able to start chemo in December of 2013, which will last until May 2014.
I have also learned that I am BRCA one positive, meaning that I carry the gene that causes breast cancer, and that it will likely come back if I don't take the necessary precautions. My mom and aunt are both survivors, so there is also family history present. A double mastectomy and partial hysterectomy are both in my near future. In addition, I have been struggling with rheumatoid arthritis since I was 18 years old. I was told that chemo, much of the time, puts arthritis into remission. However, in my case, that has yet to happen.
Needless to say, life hasn't been a piece of cake. I am reaching out to all of you in hopes of finding some relief with my medical bills and life expenses. They keep piling up, some even going as far back as my first diagnosis with the arthritis. I can hardly make a dent in them. I am still working but that pay doesn't go far and only leaves me feeling drained and run down. Any help is greatly appreciated and will go a long way in my fight to take down cancer! I thank you all in advance from the very bottom of my heart.
Ok, enough of the mushy stuff. Now let's go kick cancer's ass!!!! ;-P
