Duke's Medical Bills

I'm raising money for my mom, who made an emergency trip yesterday to the University of Minnesota (a three and a half hour drive) so her dog, Duke, could have back surgery.

Duke is a mini dachshund/chihahua mix who suddenly ruptured a disk in his back.  He lost all feeling in his legs and pain killers weren't helping.  The vet said that he needed surgery asap to get him out of pain and to give him the best chance of recovery.  The only other option was to put him down, which isn't even on the table when it comes to our four-legged family members.

The entire operation cost $5,000.  I gave my mom $1,200, and she overdrew her bank account by about $900 to pay for the surgery.

I'm starting this fund to help her recover some of the costs.  I don't expect anyone to actually pay for the whole surgery; I just want to get my mom out of overdraft and back on her feet a little.  I don't think she's ever overdrawn in her entire life, but it was an emergency and she was in a panic.

We would be so grateful if you would donate!  Duke should be home again in about a week, and it would be nice if she could have her money troubles alleviated somewhat so she could focus on his recovery and rehab.
