Hannah's Whirlwind London Adventure

Hi! I'm Hannah, a journalism student at the University of Washington who just got approved to go on the trip of a lifetime in London during summer 2014!! My dream is to travel the world and document social issues and accessibility for people with disabilities, and on this trip I will be doing just that, in addition to taking some awesome cultural courses overseas!
Since I use my wheels to get around, this creates a number of logistical challenges. I need your help in order to be able to compensate an assistant to accompany me on this trip, without whom I would not have the opportunity to participate, as well as incidental expenses supplementary to the program itself (food, emergencies etc.)
Going out of the country is a unique experience that is often challenging for many people with disabilities because of access and planning needs, and resources that are hard to come by when out of the country. I appreciate your consideration in helping my perspective on global access issues be heard, and allowing me to have a trip I'll never forget! Thank you!
For those that are interested, you can learn more about my program here. Check it out!! My blog, where I write about random musings and will be capturing the experiences of this trip is here. Enjoy! :)
**EDIT 4/19/14: HI folks! My goal has been raised to accommodate additional room & board costs for my companion. This is subject to change as I research alternative options for us. Thank you all for your understanding and continued support!! :)
