Smith Family Help

Hello everyone, my name is Kassie Smith and I am trying to raise money to honestly help my family. We are desperate for help right now and my mom and dad won’t ask, so I am doing it.
Here is our story. My father has been out of work or underemployed since 2009. Interview after interview at jobs he is qualified or more than qualified for, but nothing ever comes from it. Dad has been trying to sell things on eBay and Craig’s List, but that is not raising enough to really help. He cashed in all his retirement funds and 401k’s to keep the family together with a roof over our heads, but that is all gone now.
Now on top of that, mom also recently lost her job and has not been able to find anything yet either. They are both in their 50’s and I think no one wants to give them a chance because of their age, but of course there is no way to know if that’s the case.
So with that, our phones are being shut off, we will lose our Internet service – both of which you need these days to get a job – the electric and water are threatening with disconnects, soon there will be no gas for the vehicles and we will eventually lose our home if we do not have any source of income.
My sister and I try to help as much as we can, but we are just teenagers. Like I said, mom and dad won’t ask for help, but I will.
Please help now; every penny from our kind friends, family and those of you we don’t know yet will help in every single way. We would be so grateful for anything.
My parents are looking for work that will pay the bills and hopefully something will come along soon, but until then please see it in your heart to help out; every penny will help.
If we end up reaching our goal, we can fix things like my mother’s truck that is falling apart, pay the mortgage, our utilities and also pay for my father’s medical bills.
He was diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation last summer and is suffering from debilitating arthritis – he can barely walk anymore, so that limits his employment opportunities -- he also has severe clinical depression and a host of other things I am not sure about. We lost our insurance when Mother lost her job and his prescriptions without insurance are over $500 a month. He has filed for disability, but who knows if anything will come of that and how long that will take.
I PROMISE none of the money you donate will go towards any silly items we do not need, but only to things to help us get by for this next month or two. They do not smoke, so none of the money will be spent on cigarettes, booze or gambling.
We pray to God every day we will make it to the next day together as a family. We are so blessed to have such amazing friends and family that I know will help us as much as they can and also those of you with a kind heart who are willing to share a little of your prosperity with us. Please take a moment to pay it forward and thank you so, so much for reading our story and I hope that you can help my family.
Thank you,
Kassie Smith
