IT'S COMING FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE!

Yep. We're going there. In March of 2013, we bought our dream home, our forever house, and realized we'd be leaving feet first. A room for our kids, a backyard to play in, and a place to host grandkids. It's a pretty big deal after finding yourself penniless in 2008 and starting over from scratch. Making promises, however, can tend to get you in trouble.

Six months later, our basement flooded, the fix was $17,000 and we used whatever savings we had to jimmy rig a fix and pray.

 On the one year anniversary of being proud -- okay, maybe not so proud -- homeowners, we again have three new leaks -- the original groundwater basement leak through a crack in our foundation slab, a leak underneath a window well, and water is now coming in through the kitchen ceiling. (And if there are more, we haven't found them yet). Everything is wet, wet, wet.

Leaving isn't an option. Our dog is buried in the backyard, we cherish this home, and promised our three kiddies this was their forever house after too many moves and squishing into an apartment and saving up for a home. Insurance will not fix any groundwater issues and we've run through the whole of our savings after fixing leak one and dealing with a sick puppy that passed away in January.

It's not a Syrian war crisis, and it's not a tech start up that will make your life a lot more easy, but it's the repair and saving of a dream, and -- well, those are important. So are my kids, who I have always wanted to grow up in a house that fits them and all of their own wild dreams.

So if anyone can skip their morning latte and throw us even five bucks to repair and keep our home from being a public swimming hole, we will be forever grateful and throw some extra special love your way!
