The Powell's last ditch fertility effort

"Don't confuse your path with your destination.  Just because it's stormy now doesnt mean you aren't headed for sunshine."

Will and I began this treacherous fight with infertility 3 years ago.  We set up a gofundme page and successfully raised enough money for multiple surgeries and IVF.  We joyously attended each appointment and were so excited to finally finish and take the pregnancy test and announce our exciting news.  Then, our world came crashing down when we realized the test was negative.  Our doctor gave us a pretty clear diagnosis as to why it hadn't worked (will not get into it due to privacy concerns).  He wanted us to try another IVF with a different procedure, but I thought there was NO way to come up with the money AGAIN, after we fought so hard to get it the first time.

Will and I then decided to try IUI.  This is a much less invasive, inexpensive procedure.  Unfortunately, it also has a much lower success rate (20% per cycle vs. 75% with IVF) We tried 7 IUIs with varying doses of medication.. all unsuccessful.

We decided to take this year off.  Without getting into specifics, we have the means medically to do one more procedure.  This is why I took this year off.  I have been doing accupuncture and taking special herbs and vitamins to get my body as healthy as possible to have a child.  I have dealt with so many emotions this year.  Having to come to grips with never having a child if this last IUI doesn't work.  Having so many friends become pregnant all around me.  Learning how to love babies who are the age that my babies should have been.  After lots of soul searching, we have decided to not waste this last procedure on another stupid IUI with a ridiculously low 20% success rate.  We are putting it all on the table and going for another IVF.

My last goal on gofundme was $14,000 and we raised $2400.  We were able to take out a loan for the rest and figure some things out to pay for the treatment.  This time, I have a lot of the money saved up because of my amazing mom and aunt, who have been supporting my journey since day 1 and are doing everything they can to help me reach this goal of becoming a mother.  We need $3,000 by May in order to do IVF this summer.  I have waited all year to do another treatment and I really, really, REALLY want to be able to do it in June/July, as I can't do it any other time because I am a teacher and can't take off work as much as I would need to for various appointments.

I know this is long winded, but I feel like people have already given us SO much during our battle with infertility.  Will and I have put ourselves $36,000 in debt trying to reach our dream, and we really do not want to have to take out another loan.  If you could help in any way, it would be greatly appreciated.  If not, please pray for us.  This is our last shot, and we could use all the help we can get.
