Japan is my next step!

Hello friends and family! I am graduating at the end of May with my Bachelors of Science in Anthropology. My goal in life is to help people through the understanding of culture and society. I have come to the decision that the next step to reaching that goal is to immerse myself in another culture and expand my perspectives.

For those of you who do not know me, I am an aspiring human rights worker and activist, an aspiring artist, amateur musician, and photographer. Part of my goal to help people is to work in human and indigenous rights. This trip is a stepping stone in the process of growing to better understand society.

I wish to research and understand Japanese culture while supporting myself by teaching english. Unfortunately I face the barrier of financial strain. Moving to Japan would help me understand another culture, break free from isolation in what I am familiar with, and allow me to expand my expression in photography and art as well. This change is just a step towards my goal of attending a graduate program abroad. It has been a very long road for me in education and life, and I still have a very long way to go.
