My Father's Joy

We are raising money to help offset some of our legal fees, so that Murad can attempt to establish paternity for his daughter and, hopefully, obtain custody. Here's our story:
I am currently trying to establish rights to my daughter, a resident of Kansas who was removed from her mother's care due to neglect and drug use. I have been battling the courts and the laws in Kansas for the past ten years. My case is rare due to presumed paternity. Since my daughter's mother was unsure of the father of her child, she married a man a month before my daughter was born, so legally he is her father. I had my own paternity test done and have been involved in her life when her mother allows me to which can be very liberal or very restricted. I went to court this week for the hearing regarding my daughter's care. The judge allowed me to stay in the hearing, but said I could not be considered for custody (despite my daughter' request) until a court ordered paternity test was done. The judge ordered paternity test, but I am still waiting on the agencies to return my calls about scheduling one. I fear it will not be conducted in time for the next hearing in June and I'll be further alienated from my daughter. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has experienced parental alienation and difficulty due to presumed paternity based on marriage.
