Help our Rescue Friends

I don't know where to even begin. Yesterday was one for the records..and in the worst way possible.

I received a call from Keilah to come to hospital. Tasha had tried to break up a massive dog fight on her own. Five dogs. She used her body as a shield essentially. I know - not the best idea. She suffered a good 20 to 30 puncture wounds (my estimate) and is paying a high price physically and emotionally. We sat with her at the hospital, encouraged her, helped her sort it all out and come to peace with it - an accidentall. The hospital kept her last night to monitor her, along with her Lupus flair ups and other medical issues that could cause complication from so much stress to her body.

That's not even the bad part - literally. It doesn't end there. I was woken up by a phone call from her at 4 am this morning. Her (and Keilah and Wally's) house caught on fire last night...doing significant damage...including killing 6 beloved pets. One of which was a New Leash on Life rescue puppy. They don't wish to go into details about the hows or whys or who right now - let's please respect that. They are still trying to piece it all together. And are obviously in massive shock:(

Their livelihood, for all of you in rescue, know it is doing board and trains, rescue stuff, daycare. Out of this home that no longer exists. They parted ways with with previous company months back and have been pouring their heart and soul into building a new business - one they could be proud of. They built this out of their home for starters and were planning to move eventually when they found the right place that would allow them this opportunity.

Now - they no longer have many of their beloved animals. They no longer have a business, a rescue, a safe haven or somewhere to go when she is released from the hospital today.

I know this all sounds unreal. Like it has to be made up. I prayed when I woke this morning it was not real. That is was just a nightmare. That is not the case. I'm sick to my stomach for my friends. I cannot imagine how they feel. How is it possible that two major life-changing, tragic events?

They have done so much to help so many people out with their dogs and in rescue. So, please, I ask...if you could kindly pay it forward and help them. A group of us want to raise funds for them. To get them on their well-deserved feet again. To heal. To survive, and most importantly to push forward. Financial help would be beyond appreciated....

PLEASE CONSIDER DONATING. I have watched first hand as they have given their shirts off their backs so many times. I'd love to think now we can do the same for them.

Please keep Tasha, Keilah, Walley and those they lost in the fire in your thoughts and prayers. We will keep everyone posted.
