You And Your Bigger Ideas Gallery

I started You And Your Big Ideas Gallery (YAYBIG) in December 2012 with the goal of allowing Tucson artists a gallery setting to show off their vision. Since I am a woodblock printer, I include my personal focus on the art of printmaking at YAYBIG. I am able to utilize YAYBIG as a platform to show, explore, examine, educate and get folks interested in printmaking, and inspired to make prints themselves. I consider YAYBIG a laboratory, for artists to experiment and to investigate their Big Ideas. The goal of this Go Fund Me is to expand YAYBIG and integrate it with the newly forming Tucson Community Print Shop. This collaboration will allow us to provide classes and workshops in all forms of printmaking, and bookmaking. We will start with courses in letter press, screen printing, woodblock printmaking, graphic novel and zine making and expand to meet the needs of the ongoing artistic community. The money donated will go to rent, materials, supplies, facility equipment, promotion, and expenses. This expanded print working collective will enable people from the Tucson area to come together in multiple facets and forms of printmaking, as well as provide opportunities to exhibit, gather, and exchange knowledge and techniques. Here the rich history of the art of printmaking will be accessible to emerging and accomplished artists working side by side to illuminate Tucson.
