Running for Friends For All Children
Donation protected
I am training to run the 2014 Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon to raise support for FRIEND'S FOR ALL CHILDREN, in Thailand! FFAC is an organization based in Bangkok with services in Chiang Mai, including the home that lovingly cared for our daughter Piya for the first two years of her life and facilitated us becoming a family!
FFAC provides many services and support to women, children, and families in need. Please visit their website to read stories, learn more, or maybe even sponsor a child
www.ffac-foundation.org
In addition to ongoing challenges, specific needs for FFAC in 2014 include:
"¢ A recent and costly relocation of the Bangkok children's home.
"¢ Multiple children with special needs presently at the Chiang Mai facility could greatly benefit from more therapy services that are currently prohibited due to lack of funds.
"¢ Piya's foster home in Chiang Mai is above typical capacity with four children, one of which has had heart surgery and has ongoing complications and needs. Also, Mae Jane, Piya's foster-mother, puts tons of heart and resource into documenting her childrens' lives through pictures, scrapbooks and other mementos. These treasures will go with her current four children to their new homes, but they do not come without significant cost.
I hope that together we can bless the work of FFAC this year. We know them well and can vouch for their focus on providing their children the very best nurturing environments, medical care, and programs possible with the limited resources available.
