Dear Friends,

This website page is dedicated to supporting Raelyn and Babs as they continue to navigate their way through Raelyn's breast cancer metastasis and the health-care system.

As many of you know, Raelyn battled inflammatory breast cancer over ten years ago and is now dealing with a recurrence that returned to sites in her brain, bones, mediastinum and lungs over a year ago. She finished a course of 25 radiation sessions last June and has spent the fall and winter recovering. Although that radiation did a good job on many sites, Raelyn is still undergoing more radiation, a process called stereotactic radio surgery, at different sites in her brain. She got another dose on Friday and wanted a cheeseburger on the way home! (Our dear Raelyn! What a good sign!) This coming week, her docs will surgically implant a port-a-cath on her chest. This will be great"”she will not have to be tortured with IV lines and blood draws several times weekly and Babs and she will not have to schlep to the hospital days in a row.

Babs and Raelyn really need our help and support; these two incredibly courageous women have stood up to a lot, but they can't do it alone; hence, this fundraising page. There is little income right now and big "outgo""”from simple things like paying for groceries (mmmmm, Bab's apple pie!) to covering the mortgage and the utility bills to supplements to help Raelyn recover from radiation and keep the cancer at bay to credit-card payments to keep the bill collectors (we all know how obnoxious they can be!) away from the door. 

 We can't buy them a better health outcome; we can't buy them bravery and fortitude and an unbelievable sense of humor and gratitude (they already have that in spades!); but we CAN buy them a little comfort, a little relief and a little peace of mind.
