My Father's Triple Heart Bypass

Dearest friends, relatives, colleagues and to all kind soul who may read this message,
I am Judy Capa, the eldest daughter of Santos Capa Jr. whose photo is attached in this campaign. My father just recently had a heart attack last week and was in the ICU for 15 days because his vital signs were not stable. He received blood thinning medicines hoping to let the blood flow go normal to allow him to breath properly...however, he had other complications with his lungs and kidney which functions below the normal range. The medical team who were taking care of him requested for an angiogram to be performed ASAP to check the number of blockages in his arteries in order to decide for the next step and they found out last Saturday that my father has 3 blockages right now which supplies 99% of the blood towards the heart. They informed me to schedule a triple heart bypass as soon as the blood thinning medicines will be removed from his body to prevent bleeding during the surgery. The doctors asked us to prepare about $50,000 for the procedure/surgery, medicines, hospital bills and doctors fees. In the Philippines, there is no health insurance or health benefits that we normally receive as government employees/private employees here in the US. So in life events like this, we have to get every single penny in our pocket. In this difficult moment, with all humility, I would like to appeal for your generosity to help us finance the medical expenses of my father. I have never seek this kind of help from people before but I took all this chance because I have the BIG HOPE for my father to live. I cannot produce this amount in a week knowing that I have my own family to support, my parents' personal sustenance that I send monthly and financing the education of my nieces and nephews in the Philippines.

Below is Dr. Garcia's update on Papa's condition today:
Gudpm. Yes there were 3 arteries that were severely occluded 99% in all 3 arteries supplying the muscles of his heart. The bypass will be done by the the
cardiovascular surgeons dr arnold tan and dr peter mancao but i will be there to monitor his surgery. This will ensue not earlier than 5 days because we
need to stop the blood thinner for at least 5 days prior to the surgery to prevent bleeding.This will also give ample time to prepare the kidneys and the blood products needed for the sugery. The risk for perioperative complications of your dad is likely higher than other patients. The reasons are: the remaining cardiac function is low at 30-40% because of the heart attack, the concomitant renal failure can cause more risk for cardiovascular complications, the concomitant lung disease or chronic obstructive lung disease (due to previous smoking)and pneumonia will also pose a more difficult scenario, the uncontrolled diabetes will put him at risk for poor wound healing and high risk for post op wound infection. The overall risk for perioperative complications is approximately 20%. An ordinary surgery like Appendectomy will only give a risk of 1% in a normal individual. We need all the prayers that we can get. God is the beginning and end of everything. We will do our best in the scientific side of the problem. Divine intervention and ultimate decision to heal is with God. Let us keep our hopes and prayers high and at the same time let's always be prepared for the unforseen. God's will be done...
