Please help us raise vital funds to save Stuart’s life ❤️❤️❤️
Stuart was diagnosed with a Grade 4 brain tumour in December at the age of 53. He has had surgery to remove 99% of the tumour and is currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy, however the doctors are rather clear this won’t save him and it’s just to keep him alive longer.
Watching a loved one die is something I hope nobody ever has to experience but this is our reality. We need help to get him the treatment he deserves.
The Standard Of Care for patients with a brain tumour of this type is chemotherapy and Radiotherepy for 6 weeks , followed by 6 cycles of the chemotherapy temozolomide over a 6 month period - If you do not have a methylated biomarkers , this Chemotherapy is very unlikely to be successful- However this is the only option available on the NHS at the present time .
Stuart has had 3 cycles on the NHS - It has not worked . However a different type of chemotherapy that is part of standard of care throughout Europe and America for this disease that was previously funded on the NHS in the U.K is available if self funded. This is what we are raising money for now. It will cost £54000 for a 12 months cycle.
Stuart has been a police officer for nearly 30 years , proudly serving the community with Derbyshire Constabulary, committing his working life to keeping people safe. He was very much looking forward to his well earned retirement in May, unfortunately the excitement was taken away from him with the awful diagnosis which is cruelly taking his future away.
He is literally the kindest and bravest man you could ever wish to meet. I can’t bear the thought of life without him or my children not growing up with him by their side. He is their hero, their rock, their all time favourite person who they love unconditionally.
This is why we are appealing for help. Please share our story and donate anything you can, every penny helps and may save a life.
The treatment is there we just can't afford to have it ....
A persons life matters and no one is more important than another regardless of their bank account. I can’t just sit back knowing treatment is out there and do nothing.
