Katrina changed my life

My name is Tonie waltman I am the daughter of hardy Jackson the hurricane katrina survivor who was holding his wife hand as the waves swept my mother away from my dad and all she could say was "take care of the kids and grandkids!!" since losing my mother tonette Jackson it has been very hard to move forward. As years go by this still has an affect on my daily life. After losing my mother my only sister Mary from stage4 cervical cancer leaving two boys behind and my father Hardy Jackson I was lost. My life has been a struggle being a young single mother taking on bills keeping up the house and my children also my two nephews who lost their mother in 2011. Through it all they both graduated and need help with stuff for college its hard for me to try in do all this by myself. But i kept my promise to my sister before she passed away she said "can you please make sure my boys graduate I know I'm not going to be here to see them walk." Those were her last words as tears fell from her eyes and she took her last breath. The pain we all endured will never leave but we have all came so far to give up. I'm reaching out to the community if anyone can help its truly appreciated from me and my family. And thanks for taking the time out to read my story. The Hardy Jackson family
