A Smile for Maddox Perales
Donation protected
Maddox was born May 29th 2009.He was dropped to the floor by accident after an emergency C-section. After an MRI and CT scan the results of which were clear, the nurses noticed an abnormal cry and low tone. Upon further genetic testing the doctor diagnosed him with Moebius Syndrome. This syndrome affects the cranial nerves leaving him without the ability to smile, frown, blink or move his eyes left or right, he also has limited use of his tounge which affects his speech and ability to eat normally. Even though the doctors labeled him as failure to thrive he has overcome many challenges so far. Our next big challenge is smile surgery. His biggest wish is to be able to share his smile with everyone around him. Facial reanimation surgery would give him the chance to smile, speak more clearly, and eat with ease. This life changing surgery comes with a price tag of over 100,000 dollars. Although we have raised over 21,000 dollars so far through fundraising, we need your help to get to our goal. A smile is something that most people take for granted every day, this little boy would cherish this gift from you every time he smiled and laughed for the rest of his life. Thank you so much for helping our dream of a smile come true.
