ANTARCTICA BOUND!!!
When I was 24, I vowed to set foot on all 7 continents by my 40th year. I’ve got 6 in the bag, and am planning an epic adventure to the far-southern continent in November/December 2018.
As many of you know, I will be turning 40 on July 26, and will be celebrating in both OR + NYC. I’m looking forward to seeing many of you at the gatherings. Some have asked about gifts; instead I ask you to consider donating to helping me complete this lofty goal. (you know, that $8 you were going to spend buying me a drink)
Or if you have any info to assist this journey, that is also greatly appreciated! I am currently seeking any suggestions/leads for grants, sponsors or clients. So if you happen to know somebody that runs a NGO or research project that pertains to Antarctica, I’d love to have a chat with them! I will be photo documenting the characters and capers along the way, and will share the gallery upon my return.
Instead of booking directly (which can be upwards of $10-20K), my plan is to fly to Ushuaia, Argentina and hop aboard a last-minute boat departure. This is BY FAR a more adventurous and economical way to go. Due to the guerrilla nature of the trip, I do not have specific dates. It will occur sometime in November/December 2018, and my projection is to be gone around 4-5 weeks.
