"She Knows Promotion"

Avery Road is working on a new record. It all started with this little song called “She Knows”. Jason wrote it probably 5-7 years ago. It’s a powerful story song about a young woman’s hard choice of keeping a baby or deciding on having an abortion. Last year when the Planned Parenthood videos were coming out and it seems EVERYONE was talking about the subject of abortion we thought what a GREAT time to try and do something with this song. So, we contacted producer Jeremy Medkiff in South Carolina and everything fell into place to get this song produced. While there in the studio we also cut tracks for 3 more songs. We really weren’t consciously deciding on working on a new record but it all kinda just happened. This December we went BACK to South Carolina and finished the tracks for 7 more songs and now we’re doing vocals on them up here in Virginia!
We met a great young guy at a church we played named Drew who has a budding video production company called 37 studios. He offered his services if we ever wanted to do a video. We had already discussed trying to do a video for “She Knows”. He liked the idea and really was excited. Literally, it all just fell into place. Over the course of the Fall the team at 37 Studios and Avery Road worked on it and the video debuted online just a couple weeks ago, The response has been absolutely humbling and profound. Changed hearts from pro-choice to pro-life! Tears from people who remembered having that same opportunity and being SO thankful they made a choice for life. We knew God was in this.
This brings us to the point of this writing. We have been SO BLESSED in this first year of playing. God has provided for us immensely and even in small churches you guys have been so generous. Of course, being on the road and with two of us doing this basically full-time there are a lot of expenses. Just feeding Dakota, our drummer. on the road is hard. :) Seriously....When an artist is “indie” that means they basically front everything for recording, radio, promotion etc.....and it’s not cheap when you want to do it right. We have a really cool music video that literally just “happened”. God brought all the pieces together and it just worked. The response has been amazing. Any time an artist has a “product” it takes money to get that product out to the masses. When you hear a song on the radio, see a video on tv or online, read a story about a music artist or ministry and their work it took a lot of money to get that our there in the public eye. We believe this is something that could change lives if people hear this song and see this video. We’ve signed with A-Sides Radio Promotion and the McLaughlin Music Group to do press releases, promotion and radio promotion for us this year. For “She Knows”, a follow up song, and a Christmas song next Christmas season. They’ve had a lot of success. They’re great folks and believe in this song and our music. It’s just a good bit of money to do all of this. To record this new cd and just the promotion alone it’s costing us upwards of $8,000. That doesn’t include the actual duplication of the cd’s.
If you like our music, believe in our music and the songs we’re bringing to you guys....if you believe in this new song and this video and want to see it get out to a lot more people and want to help defray some or all of this cost then this “gofundme” project is for you. We’re not begging for money and we know that God will provide, but we wanted to give anyone an opportunity to help if they feel led and want to be a part of what we’re doing. We have 11 songs on this new cd that will be out in March probably.
We’re SO excited to share this new music with you. We are excited about what God’s doing in this band. That’s basically our “pitch”. We don’t want to guilt anyone into giving and we debated awhile before deciding this.......but we are relatively new, this stuff is expensive, and the results could be very awesome. Pray about it and whether you want to give $1, $10, $100, $500, or $5,000 we’re grateful. Thank you for your support, prayers, and love you’ve shown us in this first year of touring and ministry.
