We found a site for our forever home! Now we need to build!
Belmont Rowing Center needs your help! The city of Belmont has offered BRC a lease in the newly developed Kevin Loftin Riverfront Park along the banks of the Catawba River in Gaston County. Now we need to build a low-profile dock and boat storage area to allow for safe launching We plan to raise $125,000 for construction in the summer of 2017.
Small but scrappy, BRC is committed to rowing.
Belmont Rowing Center (formerly known as North Charlotte Rowing) started with a small group of people passionate about the sport of rowing who wanted to share that passion with both youth and adults in the greater Charlotte and Gaston County area. Despite moving three times in four years, our dedicated volunteers have been able to build competitive youth and masters programs, and have taught hundreds of people, including visually impaired campers, to row in our learn-to-row, corporate cup and developmental programs.
A dock means accessibility.
Through our partnership with the City of Belmont, the new dock will also be available for water sports enthusiasts such as kayakers and paddle boarders. And the wide and beautiful Catawba River is the perfect venue for future racing regattas for rowing clubs from all over the Southeast, and for community “river days” with local eateries and recreation groups. A low-profile dock will provide accessibility to almost everyone, including those with physical challenges.
