Dear Family and Friends,
As you all know, Jessie and I have promised each other to be partners for life in a small, yet wonderful ceremony at San Francisco City Hall.
Many of you have asked us whether we have a wedding registry, or a honeymoon planned that you could contribute to. While new shiny china or a trip to an island with white beaches would be nice, we hope that you will consider a different, more meaningful gift.
Since Bijan is German, we are petitioning for a Green Card for him so that he can live and work in the US without requiring a temporary work visa. For us that means security and stability in our lives, which we value above material possessions.
The costs for such a permit are surprisingly high, and we would really appreciate if you would consider helping us with this enormous bill. We are filing the legal documents in October and expect to have an answer in February.
We will use this site to keep you updated on our progress, and hope that you will join us in celebrating our marriage when we have this process completed in Spring 2015.
