Lauren Paris and Peter Hodges, here - and we're raising money for Edmonds-Woodway High School's Semi-Annual Play Production trip to NYC!

Bruce Mindt has been teaching high school theatre in the Edmonds School District for almost 35 YEARS. In 2023, he was honored with a 2023 Tony Award Honorable Mention for Excellence in Theatre Education!

The night we surprised Mindt with the nomination and the news, he was extremely overwhelmed. He later shared that 2024 would be the last time he takes Play Pro students to NYC, as he is reaching the end of his career. He also mentioned that due to changes in district funding, fundraising is necessary for ALL students to be able to attend this year's - over $3,000 worth.

Each student's trip to NYC costs $1,200, which includes travel, lodging, and 4 Broadway show tickets. Additionally, each student is responsible for meals, and out of pocket expenses. 24 students are hoping to attend this year.

As years worth of Play Pro students can attest to, this trip across the country to see 4 shows is life-changing in a multitude of impactful ways for this group of highly dedicated young theatre students.

We see all of this as not just an opportunity to fundraise, but also to honor Mindt’s legacy, celebrate him + the impact this amazing man has had on so many students in our community.
