Late last night we got a message from someone who discovered their neighbors, who had moved away 3 days ago, had left behind their dog locked in the back room of their house, with no food or water, the room was absolutely covered in urine and poop, and the dog infested with fleas and ticks.
We rushed out there this morning, the landlord had let her loose in the streets but she was still hanging around the front door of her home, waiting for her "owners" to come back.
It seems she was bred, then left to slowly die. She's also limping and has fresh wounds on her from being attacked by a dog. I've also never seen so many fleas on an animal before. But even through all that, when she saw us her tail started wagging.
We need to get this sweet pup to a vet ASAP. There's no telling how long she was locked away in that room starving. Her ribs are showing and she's obviously been neglected for a very long time. We also need to get her leg checked out, she needs to be fixed, most likely has worms and needs all her vaccinations as well.
As you guys know, we're a new rescue who relies 100% on donations and volenteers. We're very low on funds right now but we just couldn't leave this dog left to die. Any little bit you can give helps us out greatly.
Let's get this sweet girl fixed up so she can find a family who will never leave behind!
