Breast Cancer Awareness
Donation protected
The mission of the Carolina Lady Anglers is to raise funds for breast cancer, foster conservation, fellowship and good sportsmanship among its members and individuals; to promote education of marine resources among our members and the general public; to promote the family through the enjoyment of our marine resources; and to promote saltwater sports fishing of all kinds.
We are a group who raises money for breast cancer patients. We are the only all female fishing club in the Charleston region. All proceeds from our events stay local and are donated to After Care Essentials in Charleston. We are a non-profit, 501(c)3!
In the last two years we have donated $27,000 to After Care Essentials. They provide custom breast prosthesis and custom wigs to breast cancer patients that are not financially able to purchase them on their own.
The American Cancer Society’s estimates for breast cancer in women in the United States for 2015 are:
About 231,840 new cases of invasive breast cancer
About 62,290 new cases of carcinoma in situ (CIS) of the breast will be found (CIS is non-invasive and is the earliest form of breast cancer).
About 40,290 deaths from breast cancer
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the United States, other than skin cancer. It is the second leading cause of cancer death in women, after lung cancer.
In addition, we donate to other local causes. To name a few: Toys for Tots (toys), Hollings Cancer Center (Survivor Support Sack Project), and the Trident Fishing Tournament.
We need your help to raise money for local breast cancer patients in the Lowcountry!
