About my project and me
My name is Torben and I’m a Danish programmer and entrepreneur.
During the past few years, I’ve noticed many local stores struggling to survive and seen many be forced to close. Many reasons for that can be found. Online shops selling at lower prices, expensive store rents and very expensive advertising.
Some will claim that's is the nature off the free market and it must happen – you know "the survival of the fittest"
I think they’re right in many ways. But, and there is a big but! Would you like to live in a neighborhood without any local stores? A neighborhood with only world-wide chains ect.? No small and local shops or restaurants? I wouldn't!
To help small retailers surveive, by giving them cheap and easy advertising, I invented the Deals Nearby You app!

Until now, I've spend all my freetime on the project, and I've made both the app and the webpage retailers uses for creating and administering their ads.
Now I "just" need to have tons of shops signing up and using it - and ofcourse millions of users. This will take time and money - and that's why I need your support!
My mission
I want to provide small local businesses extremely cheap, effective and measurable marketing that improves their earnings and enables them to offer their customers better prices!
How can you support me
First of all, a donation would be very much appreciated, that way I spend more time visiting small retailers and sign them up to the app, enabling them to offer you better prices and improve their earnings – this will benefit both you and the retailer.

How will I spend the money
The funds I get from this campaign will be used to promote the app, and to pay me a small salary, so I’m able to spend my time visiting small local retailers, tell them about the possibility and hopefully sign them up. It will give me the opportunity to provide them with a free subscription for a period of time, and let them try it without any costs.
Funds will also be used to improve the app with new functions.
