Medical Bills

On 1/05/14 our son Dutch Von Roelen was born. It was the greatest day of our lives. Weighing in at 6lbs 10oz and 19 in long, our perfect little baby was finally here, but then something went drastically wrong. 12 hours after he was born the nurse noticed that he was turning blue. After hours of testing he was taken by ambulance to CHOC in Orange and diagnosed with a cogenital heart defect know as Tetrology of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia. Not only is the defect rare it is very complex and although it can be fixed through multi- staged surgical procedures it has been utterly heartbreaking and stressfull to go through.  So far are little guy has been in the hospital twice and has had 3 heart catheritization procedures to place stints in his heart that allows blood flow to the lungs. This is his lifeline at the moment. After his last catheritization on 3/11/14 he developed a clot and a fever and had to have a small blood transfusion. because of the clot, we must also administer two injections of a blood thinner daily so his body won't reject the stints. We have been informed that the best surgeon for his condition, Dr Frank Hanley is located in Stanford CA. If Dr hanley agrees to take Dutch's case, we will have to make the trek up there and stay for 2 to 3 weeks depending on his recovery. Between the medical bills already pouring in and the trip we will have to make it has left us financially strapped. We are seeking help to try an alleviate this stress so we can focus on our son's recovery and care. It's going to be a journey, but the reward is far greater. Any donation, small or big are very much appreciated and we will be forever grateful for your support.
