My name is Ella and I’m working with Stella’s Socks for my Mitzvah Project!
My mom and I got involved with Stella’s Socks about a year ago. And it’s an awesome organization. Stella's Socks delivers socks to 100k homeless people per year in the Los Angeles area. The organization was started by Stella Vaughan-Verk, when she was in 8th grade. She saw a need, and with her father, found a BIG solution. She reached out to sock companies and convinced them to donate socks for her to distribute. Stella’s Socks has already donated 70,000 socks so far this year.
My goal is to raise enough money to help pay for their coordinator, who organizes the sock deliveries to all the charities around Los Angeles. In addition to this gofundme page, I’m hosting a fundraiser on October 21st, from 3pm-5pm, at my house. Stella will be speaking and super talented 7th grader, Violet Grohl, will be singing. I hope you can come.
I’m inspired by Stella and the idea that you’re never too young to make a difference in the world. I hope you’ll donate to this great cause. Anything is appreciated! They’re a 501c3, so let us know if you need a receipt.
