Publishing Etheroids: Magna-Remedy Corp.!

Priceless foot soldiers of GoFundMe,

I’m A.R. A switch flipped in my head as soon as I turned thirty. Having found a new obsession with the secrets of life, science and the universe, I began researching for a few months straight, non-stop. I devoured countless videos, articles and journals ranging from fact to fringe. Then, it happened. A spark in my vivid and overactive imagination started spreading rapidly until a forest fire of ideas brewed. I could no longer hold it in. On December 13, 2018, I finally decided my story was too unique not to share with the world. And so, I set out to write a Young Adult (YA) Sci-Fi/Fantasy novel named Etheroids: Magna-Remedy Corp. It’s important to understand: I did not choose to shift my life’s trajectory toward authorship. Rather, I worked relentlessly to become one, so I could document this story. For months, I spent my waking hours mulling it over. From plotting to writing, I’ve done everything within my power to ensure readers will be captivated.

Whoever operates in the realm of the Fiction world knows how cumbersome the process of seeking traditional publication could be. Having great faith in the novel I’ve written, I knew it’d be a matter of marketing and exposure for it to experience success. So, I decided to pursue self-publishing. As a Civil engineer, I’m entrenched in a day job which is OK for paying the bills, but not for financially sustaining an entire publication process.

Here is where you come in. I’m humbly seeking $6000 CAD to hire one or more editors, illustrators and print-on-demand services. In addition, I’m intent on hiring a professional voice-over actor to create an audiobook for Etheroids: Magna-Remedy Corp. It may all very well cost more than my fundraising goal, but the donations will serve as the push I need to fulfill my dream – to captivate the world. I think of it as a Science-Fiction Harry Potter, not because it is at all related to witchcraft and wizardry, but simply due to my painstaking attention to detail and the intricacy of the plot. This book is the first of multiple, as part of a potential franchise. But it all depends on whether or not I can share it with the world. Your contributions, no matter how small are absolutely critical to whether or not this story reaches countless young minds around the globe (intended target audience is Young Adults, but the heaviness of the ideas I explore in the story will captivate college students, right up to adults). In a post-truth era where the paradigm shift of conflicting information is becoming ever so apparent, Etheroids: Magna-Remedy Corp. will encourage younger minds to enter the STEM fields. This was not my original intent, but the more I think about it, the more I’m confident in it manifesting as a much-welcomed byproduct. I’d like to extend my profound gratitude and appreciation for your support and donations. I promise not to disappoint. Etheroids: Magna-Remedy Corp. will captivate the world.

But enough about me and my back-story. I’ve included a short summary pitch for the book below:

When twelve-year-old Sacha Tinsley gazes into the night sky as a meteor glides along , an overwhelming, unbridled sense of awe captures him. There is more out there than meets the eye. There has to be. As a science nerd, obsessed with the ancient theory of Quintessence, or the Ether – space’s supposed electromagnetic skeleton – he holds Ethen Rockwilde’s work near and dear to his heart. The inventor of the enigmatic ‘Magnetic Field Corrector’ attachments. Without these erratic, sloppy-but-life-saving gadgets, every electronic device in Crystal Peaks, California would meet its inevitable fate – fried like a sunny side up. Why? The residents of Crystal Peaks unanimously blame ‘The Red Day’. A day of unnerving, crimson electromagnetic showers that left Crystal Peaks crippled with a heavily charged magnetic field. The only place in the world entangled with such a phenomenon. Ethen’s company – Magna-Remedy Corp. – set up shop in Crystal Peaks as soon as the storm sent the town spiraling into a state of chaos. How convenient and timely of Mr. Rockwilde. Strange, but appreciable for Sacha, who can’t live a day without his gadgets and the internet.

Until disaster strikes his family during a night out in town. His ideas about the Ether manifest in rapid succession, helping him discover the mystique of deep space. Other dimensions, though? Even Sacha’s ability to digest complex ideas has its limits. It’s all up to whatever – or whoever – the Ether presents to the prodigy on the path to higher consciousness, to help him understand not only the universe, but the electromagnetic anomalies swallowing his town. His idea of life itself is about to flip on its head – for better and for worse. And with Dad’s life on the line, there isn’t much time to figure it all out.

Thank you for reading! I cannot wait to share this novel with the world!
