Help Me Get To Hong Kong
Donation protected
Hi everyone, thank you so much for taking the time to read my post!
My name is Quanisha. I am currently attending the University of Arizona where I am pursing a major in the Management of Information Systems.
I am attempting to raise funds for this summer as I will be making my first steps toward a minor in Global Business in Hong Kong, China in 7 short days!
I am blessed to say, I finally finished my freshman year and I will now head into yet another year with my baby girl right by side.
(Here are some pictures just in case you like visuals, like me)
Aubs at her first meeting with Mama!
My baby, my world, my purpose, my best friend, my motivation, my right hand; Aubrey Nicole...
Needless to say, leaving her for 8 weeks is the hardest, most dreadful thing I have dealt with in my entire life. I know it sounds like yet another super cliché parent saying but it’s truly crazy to say that I live entirely for one little human. Without a doubt she has lead me to who I am today and she’ll never have a clue how crazy dependent I am on her cute little self.. (Even though she acts like she's 15 already!!)
Being a teen mother, I was counted out for so much but I desire nothing short of continuing to push myself to be a positive role model in her life. While this may be the longest 8 weeks of my life, I undoubtedly know pursing this program will the first of many steps toward our future goals.
Okay But What Are You Raising Money For Quanisha?!
I apologize for my lack of updates but it was primarily because I was not allowed to share anything for a while!! BUT, I am excited to say that I have been accepted to intern at one of the leading IT firms in Hong Kong.
(I will post more about who they are once I get the ok from my advisor but here's a picture!!)
While in China, I’ll be receiving both academic credit toward my Global Business minor and full-time internship experience, and once I get back I will be two short classes away from completing my minor and one step closer to pursing my dream career field in Cyber Security.
So, Why Hong Kong Kong?
I LOVE CYBER SECURITY!!
As we move into a globalized society, I know expanding my knowledge on IT solutions outside of the United States is essential to understanding the international variables that pose a threat to the security of millions of companies. To have the opportunity to work with a company that has a clear focus on combining business and technology to enhance the competitiveness of their industry will put me at a competitive advantage in my major coursework as it will increase my professional skill set, expand my global competency and gain hands-on experience that I could not gain in the United States alone.
By spending these 8 weeks in Hong Kong, I will be humbled and deeply inspired each day by the knowledge and skills taught by these talented employers and I feel incredibly blessed to take on this opportunity with the incredible support of everyone who surrouds me.
However..
As an intern, I will not be receiving any type of salary and I am therefore responsible for raising funds to support some of my program cost and everyday living expenses during my 8 week stay in Hong Kong. I have started the process by contributing $1,000 of my own savings. :) and my goal is to achieve $3,276 as soon as possible as my dues are offically due June 30th!
Whether it's a penny, $1, $5 or $100
Each donation gets me one step closer to my goal and I will be eternally thankful for the donation
no matter how small or large it is :)
Thanks to each and every one of you for helping me not only achieve my financial goals ,but choosing to invest in my and Aubrey's future's!
Before I end this,
I want to give a HUGE thank you to my family, friends, mentors, staff, acquaintances and kind strangers
for your constant support and love in everything I have choosen to do in my life this far. I feel beyond blessed to have a support system as great as I do.
If you can or cannot donate, I understand. But please do share my post! It would appreciated soo much !!
