Anne Reed's Home/Wheelchair Fixes
Donation protected
UPDATE: Between being sick ourselves, and other stressful situations and warm-weather responsibilities, we had slacked off on spreading the word about the fundraiser. After weeks of promoting with no results, we finally thought to ask for additional help from the admin. We found out that there was a technical issue blocking us from receiving donations. That issue has been corrected. We would greatly appreciate even a $5 anonymous donation. Father bless you and yours.

I am asking on behalf of my mother, Anne Reed, for money to fix up her house. She was in a rehab/nursing home when this campaign started under the title of 'Anne's Return Home' (update: returned home June 2016). She missed home horribly and asked me every day when she could come back. Often she cried to go home.
Mother returned home even though the wheelchair accessibility, transportation and medical equipment needs have not been met. With the grace of God, we are hoping things will soon improve.
Mother has lived most of her life in her small home. It does have a few problems; however, that must be addressed before she can function in it properly.
A small ramp needs to be built for the entry steps and an in house step up. She needs some simple things such as hand rails and the like. There are some major hurdles to overcome and she doesn’t have the money to fix up these challenges nor do we, her family.
We need to make much of the house wheelchair accessible. Mother is not able to get into the galley style kitchen with her wheelchair because the walkway is too narrow. The bathroom has accessibility issues too.
There is some general maintenance that needs to be done. It would also be nice to get her a modern sit down tub instead of her current shower. Mother has major mobility and pain issues. Being able to soak in a tub would be a huge relief for her damaged hip that could not be repaired because of her age.
We must rely on expensive contractors because I have recently developed my own health issues that greatly limit my mobility and ability to make home repairs.
Any money you can afford to send, even as much as $5, to help her be able to be mobile in her home that has been in the family for decades, would be greatly appreciated.
In addition, she needs a wheelchair accessible van to get to doctor appointments. Also, there is some medical equipment like a lift recliner, (not sure if covered by insurance yet) etc. that would help her quality of living; but, it is out of our budget.
I am not sure exactly how much is needed. Maybe $20,000, or more, would go a long way to improving her quality of life which would also make her ongoing daily pain more tolerable.
Any extra funds over $20,000 will be applied to medical bills that are not paid by her insurance.
Thanks for any and all help, it is greatly appreciated,
Bruce, Anne, and the whole Family!
