Help Dana BEAT Cancer

Donation protected
Have you ever known someone that could make you smile in the hardest of situations? Someone that has the strength to smile when everyone else is crying? Well that is our friend Dana and she has been battling cancer since 2013. Thirty year old Brooklyn, NY native Dana Rowe was diagnosed with stage 2A breast cancer on September 19, 2013. After extensive efforts to recieve health insurance coverage, Dana began chemotherapy treatments in October of 2013. Dana endured six large treatments of chemotherapy until January 2014 where she was finally done with treatment. Just two months later, in March 2014, Dana underwent a life-changing surgery; a lumpectomy where the lump in Dana's breast were removed along with 50 other lymph nodes. Dana was overjoyed to know that she had beaten cancer. She was ready and eager to get back to her normal life of health and happiness. However, in June 2014, Dana continued to show signs and had to undergo yet another surgery. Holding steadfast to her faith, Dana received a mastectomy and began radiation treatments shortly after in July 2014. The radiation treatments lasted for two months until September 2014.

Eventhough Dana has been facing a huge mountain, she is not intimated and has never once surrendered to cancer. She continues to walk by faith and has remained faithful throughout this challenging time. In efforts to not land in debt, Dana obtained a part-time job to help pay for her medical fees and exspenses. She quickly gained great rapport with her supervisors and co-workers with her fun, funny, spunky personality. It wasn't until early November 2014 that Dana began experiencing dizziness and headaches. After a visit to the emergency room, Dana learned that the cancer had not only spread to her brain, but consists of three lesions with the biggest one measuring one inch. Dana has since then recieved radiation treatments over a three week time period. Under doctor's orders Dana is not allowed to work. It has been a continuous struggle trying to get health insurance and any type of government aide for Dana; she has remained optimistic as she consistently searches for solutions to pay her rent, utility bills, and afford groceries along with other costs of living.

She is now awaiting the results from her radiation treatments to find out what the next steps are. Dana has survived through the continuous love and support of her family and friends. She continues to plan for the future and press on to make her dreams of becoming a business owner a reality. Through this tumultuous, life-threatening ordeal Dana still finds a reason to smile and be grateful. Dana draws a spirit of unrelenting strength from her own mother who lost her battle with breast cancer in 1998. Today Dana remains peaceful and hopeful that she will beat cancer again.

We ask for your support to help our friend Dana. All donations will directly go to hospital bills and medicine fees.
