Iris Elizabeth Ellis was born 10 days overdue on Febrary 28th 2015 via induction. Iris did not pass the biophysical ultra sound test given while still in the womb. She wasn't showing breathing movements. The labor and delivery went smoothly for Iris and Mom (Deanna), and was both sent home on March 1st.
Only being home for a few short hours, Deanna noticed Iris was turning blue around her lips, but still breathing and alert. 911 was called and Iris was brought to the hospital by ambulance and admitted into the NICU. Iris' oxygen levels were very low. All tests were coming back normal, but her oxygen levels would keep dropping. After spending almost 10 days in the NICU and going through so many tests, Iris was finally able to go back home, but not without a heart monitor that she will have to use for at least a month along with a caffeine prescription. Iris is finally enjoying her days with her two older brothers, Isaiah & Grayson!
But now the hospital bills are adding up fast ($10,000 and counting), and Mark (Iris' Daddy) had to take unexpected time off from work. That is why I'm starting this page. Mark and Deanna are two of the most loving and giving people I know, they do not deserve to be burdened with the financial part of all this. So I am asking for donations to go towards Iris' medical expenses/bills. Any little bit helps and will be greatly appreciated by the Ellis family and myself. Thank you!
Much love,
Kaley
